Product

A reusable silicone ring with a disposable film

A thin silicone ring wrapped once around with a disposable film, sitting in the upper vagina (vaginal fornix). Because the film covers the ring, the ring stays clean and nothing gets on your hands when you remove it. All you throw away each time is one thin film.

Designed for long shifts and travel where changing is difficult. Only the part that becomes soiled is disposable film; the silicone ring that holds the shape is reused for up to two years.

No-touch change

Holding the outside of the film, the contents are sealed inside as it is removed. No rinsing is required.

Sealed removal

The film opening is closed during removal, designed to prevent spills.

Adjustable capacity

Capacity can be adjusted by changing where the film is hooked onto the ring.

Up to 12 hours

Can be worn continuously for up to 12 hours, including during sleep.

Comparison

Compared with other period products

The main difference is in removal and changing. A menstrual cup must be emptied and rinsed, whereas LUBOA’s film is removed sealed and discarded, so no rinsing is needed. Maximum wear time is the same as a cup, and capacity is adjustable.

How to use

How to use

Wash your hands → choose the film length and fit it over the ring → fold in half and insert. To remove, pinch the opening closed and peel by the outside of the film; the contents come away sealed inside.

  1. 01Wash your handsWash with soap and dry. Keep nails short.
  2. 02Fit the filmChoose where to hook the film, wrap it once around the ring and fold it outward. Keep it taut and smooth.
  3. 03Fold and insertSqueeze the ring in half and push it back toward your tailbone. Pushing straight up makes it catch.
  4. 04Tuck under the cervixOnce fully in, push the front rim up behind the pubic bone.
  1. 05Close the opening as you removePull slowly while pinching the film opening closed. The contents stay sealed.
  2. 06Peel and throw awayYour fingertips only touch the clean outside. Put it in general waste, never in the toilet.
  3. 07Sterilise after your cycleWhen your period ends, wash the ring, boil for 3–5 minutes and dry completely.
  4. 08Store in a breathable pouchUse a breathable pouch rather than an airtight container. Keep out of direct sunlight.

Production noteThe removal method will be finalized once checked against the latest prototype (pulling the film tab so the front rim comes out first).

When to stop using it — If fever, vomiting, rash or dizziness appear together, remove it immediately and seek medical care. Insertable period products can rarely be associated with toxic shock syndrome (TSS). This page is product guidance, not medical advice.

No-touch

A no-touch change

Pinch the film opening closed as you remove it and the contents stay inside, still wrapped as you peel it away. Your fingertips only touch the clean outside of the film.

You don't rinse the ring at each change. Once your period ends, wash it, boil for 3–5 minutes and store.

  1. 01Take out the ring

  2. 02Close the opening and peel

  3. 03Throw it away as is

Capacity

Capacity set by film length

Hook the film further down. Where you hook it changes the pouch length and the capacity. No need to buy another size.

A longer pouch doesn't extend wear time. The maximum is still 12 hours. Try standard for your first cycle and go long only on heavy days.

How to measure cervix height

Pelvic cross-section showing an index finger reaching the cervix, with the knuckles used to judge the depth
  1. 01

Wash your hands, squat and slowly insert your index finger.

  2. 02

The cervix feels firm, like the tip of your nose, with a small dip in the middle.

  3. 03

Cervix height changes through the cycle and is often lower during menstruation, so measure during your period, when you will use the disc.

Wear time

Wear time

Up to 12 hours. On heavy days it may fill sooner, so check every 6–8 hours during your first cycle. Don't exceed 12 hours. This is the common guidance for all insertable period products.

Price

Pricing

The ring lasts two years and only the film is replaced, so the monthly cost is the ring price spread over its lifespan plus the film you use.

Production notePrices are planned launch prices and will be updated once final. Monthly cost and savings comparisons will be published after prices are confirmed.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Films are single-use. Never wash and reuse a film; only the ring is reused.

The recommended lifespan is two years. Replace it sooner if the surface becomes sticky, torn, discolored or smells.

It rests in the vaginal fornix, so there's no suction. If you have an IUD, check with the clinic that placed it first, and take care not to pull the IUD strings when inserting or removing.

The shape of the vaginal opening varies a lot between people and changes with exercise and daily activity. It may feel uncomfortable at first — start with the smaller size, and stop and seek advice if pain continues.

Yes. It's worn internally, so you can use it in water and while running, doing yoga or swimming.

It's all done inside the stall. Peel off the film, fit a new one and reinsert. No trip to the sink and nothing on your hands.

Pinch the film opening closed as you remove it and the contents stay inside. Practise over the toilet the first couple of times.

The film folds over the outside of the ring, so the ring surface stays covered. If the film tears or lifts, wash the ring before reusing it.

Put the peeled film in general waste as is. Flushing it can block the toilet.

It's common the first few times, usually for one of three reasons: the ring sits beside the cervix instead of below it, the size doesn't fit, or it filled before 12 hours. Run a finger around the rim to check the cervix is inside the ring, and hook the film longer on heavy days.
